ROME RADIO DENIES KING HAS ABDICATED CROWN PRINCESS & CHILDREN ARRIVAL IN SWITZERLAND' REPORTED. (Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, September 10. The Rome radio denied that King Victor Emmanuel had abdicated. Reuter’s Berne correspondent says Princess Marie Jose, wife of'the Italian Crown Prince Umberto, arrived' in Switzerland last night with her four children and a suite. The Rome radio also said that a violent barrage began on the outskirts of Rome just before noon and then an air raid alarm sounded. It added that Marshal Badoglio at present is away from Rome, owing to military inspections which makes his personal presence necessary. Marshal Caviglis has taken temporary military charge.
