. 0 ALARMING POSITION IN GRECE. FEARS OF DISASTROUS WINTER FAMINE. (Special P.A. Correspondent.) LONDON, September 8. Another food crisis is arising in Greece, reports the Smyrna correspondent of “The Times.” He states that the morale of the Greeks,, enhanced by the Allied victories and brightened by the hope' of early deliverance, is higher than ever, but physical strain is resulting from the food scarcity, and hardships are becoming alarming again, specially on the Greek mainland and the islands closer to Greece. “Food and economic conditions in continental Greece and the Cyclades are becoming so bad that unless Greece is delivered soon, or some means devised to send more regular and substantial asistance a disastrous situation may arise next winter, worse than the winter of 1941,” the correspondent says.
