Nuns of the order of Saint Vincent de Paul, well-known to the French population as the “little sisters of the poor,” have become particular objects of suspicion to the Gestapo in France. No fewer than 30 nuns of the order have been arrested, says “La Marseillaise,” the French weekly published in London.
