To conserve vegetable and fruit supplies the Canadian War Time Prices Board has issued an Order withholding from the retail market the current pack of canned vegetables and fruit and the remainder of the 1942 pack now in the hands of canners and wholesalers. The public is to be asked to refrain from using canned fruits and vegetables during the season when fresh supplies are on the market. To encourage production the Food Board had previously announced increased subsidies to growers of tomatoes, corn, peas, and green and wax beans for canning.
