TO BE CANCELLED

BUS SERVICE TO SOLWAY. NO. 2 AUTHORITY’S DECISION. The No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr P. Skoglund) indicated yesterday afternoon in Masterton that he was cancelling the special licence under which a bus service of six trips a clay was run to the Solway Showgrounds. Mr Skoglund said as the grounds were no longer being used for convalescent cases the men could walk into town. When he was in a similar position he had to walk five miles into the nearest town. When he granted the licence the circumstances warranted the issue of a licence; the present circumstances did not do so. Mr D. B. Curry said the service was a waste of tires and petrol.
