Vic Patrick (9.113) won the Australian welterweight boxing championship at Sydney Stadium on Saturday night, when Hockey Bennell (10.63) was forced to retire at the end of the seventh round with an injured hand. Though Patrick won well, Bennell unluckily injured his hand in the first round and continued to fight under great difficulties.
