LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO FINE. WITH COLD TEMPERATURES. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to fresh south to south-easterly winds. Some scattered drizzle and rain still likely on the east coast, otherwise mainly fair. Temperatures cold. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Becoming fair to fine. The Waingawa Sub-Station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended yesterday: —Shade temperature, maximum 48.6, minimum 36; terrestrial, 36; rain. 283 points. The Waingawa Sub-Station reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: Shade temperature, maximum 53, minimum 40; terrestrial, 35.7; sunshine, 24 minutes; rain. 18 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 292 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday, and 30 points during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. PHASES OF THE MOON. SEPTEMBER.
