ROOSEVELT-UHURGHILL DISCUSSIONS. BUSY DAYS IN AMERICAN CAPITAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON September 3. President Roosevelt has held his first Cabinet meeting since his return from Quebec, while Mr Churchill conferred with the American Chief of Staff, General Marshall, and the heads of various British military and supply missions. The two statesmen met several times during the day, and a spokesman explained: “They talk whenever it is convenient.” Messrs: Churchill and Roosevelt talked till 1 a.m. on Wednesday night. The “New York Times” says that in spite of the parade of admirals and generals to see Mr Churchill there is a persistent belief that both leaders are devoting considerable time to the political problems relating to Russia. It adds: “The hurried pace of the Russian armies suggests that progress on the solution of such problems is urgent.”
