LADIES’ GOLF CLUB COMPETITIONS AT GUM GROVE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The lady members of the local Goll Club took part in a stableford competition at Gum Grove on Wednesday, Miss Williams being first with 30 points, Mrs R. Donald second with 25 points, and Mrs Batchelor third with 21 points. Jeffrey’s trophy: Mrs R. Donald defeated Miss Williams; Mrs Elbe defeated Mrs Batchelor; Miss Williams defeated Mrs Pope. Personal Items. Miss Viles has returned after a holiday spent in Napier. 'Mrs F. Yule has returned from a visit to her mother, Mrs A. Viles. Miss Joan McKenzie has returned from a visit to Hawke’s Bay. Vital Statistics. During August there were two births, and two deaths registered in Featherston,- No marriages took place. Rainfall Record. Rain fell on seventeen days in August, the total fall being 6.01 inches. COSY THEATRE TWO BIG FEATURES. There will be two' big features presented tonight., “Jeannie,” a delightful comedy-drama, features Michael Redgrave, Wilfrid Lawson and Barbara Mullen. “Castle in the Desert,” is a thrilling drama in which Sidney Toler has the chief role. This is a programme that no picture lover can afford to miss.
