ORDER OF MERIT
CONFERRED ON SIR DUDLEY POUND. DISTINGUISHED NAVAL SERVICE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) RUGBY, September 2. The King has been pleased to confer the Order of Merit on Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Dudley Pound, First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff since 1939, for distinguished naval service.
