Four Soviet fighter planes led by Guards Senior • Lieutenant Kuznetsov recently met 12 enemy planes over a certain sector, “Soviet War News” states. Kuznetsov shot one down. Six of the German fighters then attacked him at once. His plane was hit. Two Focke-Wulf 190 s pursued him and set fire to his machine. Thereupon Kuznetsov hurled his flaming machine down and with its wing cut off the tail of one of the German planes. He then baled out and landed safely.
