CRIPPLED CHILDREN
EXECUTIVE MEETING.
MANY NEW CASES DEALT WITH. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Wairarapa Crippled Children’s Society was held yesterday afternoon in Masterton, Mr E. M. Hodder presiding. ’ It wag resolved that the chairman and Welfare Officer address a meeting of the Pahiatua Rotary Club on Monday, Septemher 20 A letter of thanks was received from the mother of a child for financial assistance rendered in connection with an operation. The New Zealand Crippled Children’s Society advised that the annual meeting of the Society would be held on Thursday, September 9 Mrs H. E. Pither was appointed the official delegate from the Wairarapa branch. Mr S. L. P. Free, who is a member of the New Zealand Council, will also be present. , The South Wairarapa branch of the Blanket Society and the Tinui School Junior Red Cross Society wrote forwarding donations. The thanks of the executive were expressed to both organisations. One life member and 27 annual members were elected. It was resolved that a small contribution be forwarded to the local representative of the post-guide movement. The Welfare Officer’s report stated that nine new cases had been registered during the month, and that 51 cases had been examined by the specialist from Wellington at the recent travelling clinic. Clothing had been purchased for a girl as authorised at the previous meeting. Arrangements were made to convey ceitain children to Wellington for the purpose of having them fitted with surgical boots, was resolved that the Education Board be approached with a view to arranging transport to school for two crippled childwere expressed to Mrs Pither for her assistance in connection with the recent South Wairarapa visit.
