Coursing Club Activities.

At a meeting of the Masterton Coursing Club last night it was decided to hold a 32-dog maiden stake for the Yule Cup on September 18 and 19. As the handsome cup may be won outright, large nominations are expected. Members expressed appreciation of the donor's generous gift. Several improvements are proposed at the plumpton. Table Tennis. An enjoyable time was spent in the Air Training Corps rooms last night, when Macduff’s, Ltd., defeated sA.T.C. in both singles and doubles table tennis matches. The winners of the doubles were Misses Una Lochore and Joyce Cross, and of the singles Miss Una Lochore. As each team has now won a match, a further game is being arranged. The teams were:—Macduff’s, Ltd.: Misses U. Lochore, P. Cooper, J. Cross, G. Lochore, Mrs Flynn, Messrs A. Lucas, C. Faulknor, D. Cross, N. McArley, T. Braggins. A.T.C.: Messrs Kenny, Permain, E. Hamill, G. Youngquest, P. Alexander, B. Mathews, V. Duley, B. Reading and W. Patete. The A.T.C. has accepted challenges to play members of the Optimist Club on September 6, and the Winter Sports Club on September 20. Return matches are to be played with Woolworth’s, Ltd., and Macduff’s, Ltd.
