Mrs J. D. O’Connor and Miss M. O’Connor, of Masterton, are visiting Napier. Mr and Mrs W. I. Armstrong, of “Maungaru,” Masterton, have received advice that their son, Rodney, had been promoted to Squadron-Leader in the Air Force. The engagement is announced of Kathleen Marie, third daughter of Mr and the late Mrs F. J. Clark, Manga-, tainoka, to Laurence Edward, only son of Mr and Mrs A. G. Jenkins, Nikau. The Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, Prime Minister, left Wellington yesterday on his North Island election tour. He will be back in Wellington next Tuesday, and will then leave on a tour of South Island electorates.
