GENERAL ELECTION
DEMOCRATIC LABOUR PARTY. CANDIDATE’S MEETING AT BIDEFORD. Aircraftman Donald Thompson addressed a well-attended and appreciative gathering at the Bideford Hall last evening. The speaker was asked several questions and accorded a vote of confidence. LABOUR CANDIDATE. ADDRESS AT WHATMAN SCHOOL. A vote of thanks and confidence in Mr J. Robertson, Labour candidate for the Masterton seat, was passed at a meeting held at Whatman School, Masterton, last night. Mr A. Kilgour presided over a good attendance. Mr Robertson surveyed the Labour Government’s legislation. NATIONAL PARTY. MR MACKLEY IN PAHIATUA DISTRICT. Mr G. H. Mackley, National Party candidate for the Masterton seat, addressed a representative meeting at Makomako yesterday afternoon. Mr Day presided. In the evening Mr Mackley spoke to a good attendance at Hamua, where Mr P. Davis presided. Mr Mackley, who received an attentive hearing at both places, dealt with the National Party’s policy and answered a number of questions. He was accorded votes of thanks.
