LAMB=KILLING BOAR

IN THE MARTINBOROUGH AREA. A Masterton sportsman reports that a wild boar has been killing numerous lambs in the Haurangi district, adjacent to Martinborough. An unsuccessful attempt was made at the weekend to destroy the animal. A further effort is planned for next weekend. The boar is reported to have killed on an average four lambs each night for the past, week. In the White Rock area boars have been eating opossums before they could be removed from traps.
