OF ITALIAN RAILWAYS & BASES CRUISER DIRECTLY HIT AT TARANTO. DAMAGING ATTACKS OVER WIDE AREA. ' LONDON, August 29. The almost non-stop Allied ail 1 attack on Southern Italy was kept up yesterday when American. Liberators from the Middle East hit a large cruiser at Taranto. Another bomb went on to the main station and a goods train blew up. Other targets were also hit.
Targets in the toe of Italy were attacked by South African Baltimores and R.A.F. Bostons and Invader Force fighter-bombers were out in strength’ in the same area.
