STATE THEATRE

“MOON AND SIXPENCE” “The Moon and Sixpence” will be finally shown tonight. DOUBLE PROGRAMME. The Mexican Spitfire series of pictures has proved very popular and each presentation seems to be an improvement on the previous one. The reason for this is not hard to find as each picture contains drama and comedy mixed in the right proportion, with acting of the highest standard. The programme tomorrow night is headed by “Mexican Spitfire’s Elephant,” a triumph in pictures of this type. The picture is described as a “trunkful of fun” in which Lupe Velez and Leon Errol are seen in a maelstrom of smugglers manhunting T-men and an elephant. The associate picture, “Pirates of the Prairie” is an exciting story of the West and holds the interest throughout.
