PAKURANGA HUNT MEETING CUP LOST ON PROTEST. JELLICOE HANDICAP TO LANDVEYOR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 22. Fine weather favoured the Pakuranga Hunt races at Ellerslie on Saturday, and there was an attendance of 21,000,’ compared with 16,500 last year. The totalisator handled £132,227, against £81,215 10s in 1942. an increase of £51.011 10s. The turnover was a record for the meeting. The racing throughout was highly interesting in spite of the course being very heavy. The Pakuranga Hunt Cup ended sensationally. Huirangi Sun passed the post a nose in front of Forest Glen, but the stewards reversed the placings owing to interference and suspended 'Huirangi Sun’s rider, R. Beale, for three months.
