The annual quadrangular Rugby tournament between Scots College, Wairarapa College, Hutt Valley High School and Dannevirke High School, began yesterday in perfect weather, but on heavy grounds. • In a close but unspectacular game, Wairarapa beat Scots, 6-nil. The Hutt Valley versus Dannevirke match was exciting, Dannevirke winning 6-nil with a try and a penalty in the last 10 minutes. On Saturday, at Dunedin, Canterbury beat Otago by 11 points to 10. WELLINGTON COMPETITION. WELLINGTON, This Day. The following were the results of the senior games played under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Rugby Union on Saturday:— Jubilee Cup: Poneke-Oriental 8 beat Marist Brothers’ Old Boys 6; Hutt 6 beat Petone 3; Athletic 19 beat Army 6; Wellington College Old Boys 24 beat Wellington 12. Hardham Cup: Johnsonville 6 beat Navy 3; University 24 beat Air Force 0; Seatoun 22 beat Miramar 4. WAIRARAPA V. BUSH WIN FOR VISITING TEAM. In a hard tussle at Pahiatua on Saturday afternoon Wairarapa beat Bush by 7 points to 3 in a senior Rugby representative fixture. Clay, who played a splendid game for Wairarapa, scored a try and kicked a field goal. In a third grade representative game also played at Pahiatua, Wairarapa beat Bush by 14 points to 6. For Wairarapa tries were scored by Hourigan. Jury and Berry. G. Goodin converted a try and kicked a goal.
