American bombers blasted Japanese troops and supplies at Hanoi and fuel dumps in the Burma Road town of Mangshih,* in the Yunan Province, states General Stilwell’s communique.
Travellers reaching the Kwangtung Province from Hong Kong told the “Central News” correspondent that American raids on July 29 and 31 damaged military targets, naval dockyards, waterfront installations and killed hundreds in the shipyards and factories. They also hit the Japanese police headquarters, killing in there a large number of military officers and men ready for an important conference.
