The “Evening News” states that summonses have been issued under the Prevention of Corruption Act against H. N. L. Armstrong, Director General of Aircraft Production from July, 1942, to February, 1943; Henry Bloss, a deputy director of Aircraft Production, and Rex Hoyes, who is a director of several companies and managing director of Cunliffe Owen Aircraft, Ltd. Armstrong, who was a former chairman of a big Sheffield steelmaking firm, in a statement said: “There is a complete answer to the charges.”
