SALE AT ADDINGTON LITTLE CHANGE IN VALUES. INCREASING PIG PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. At Addington today prices generally showed little change. Though hoggets sold at up to recent values, ewes in lamb and also ewes with lambs at foot showed a marked easing. Though fat sheep prices in the early stages were not up to the exceptionally high level of opening figures last week, the demand generally was more sustained, and there was not the same easing over the closing stages. The best price for ewes was 43s Id, and wethers brought up to 49s lOd. The fat cattle market was erratic in the earlier stages. A heavy Shorthorn bullock from the south sold for £3O. Best steer beef made from 49s to 52s per 1001 b. The demand for porkers was up to schedule rates Competition in the bacon pens was also good, and values showed a further.rise of 3s to 5s a head. The average price per lb. was SViid to 9’/id. MASTERION SALE PRICES REMAIN FIRM. The Wairarapa Stock and Station Agents’ Association report as follows on their weekly Masterton sale yesterday:—A small yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward and attracted a large attendance of buyers. The fat sheep and the w.f.w. hoggetss yarded were not up to the quality of those of our last sale, but competition was keen and prices remained firm throughout. The one pen of yearling P.A. steers yarded attracted attention and they were sold after keen competition at £6. A total clearance was effected under the hammer and the following list of our principal sales will indicate values:—Good w.f.w. hoggets, 17s, 18s lOd to 20s 7d; medium do.. IGs, 16s 6d to 16s 9d; small do., 12s 6d, 13s to 14s; good w. ewe hoggets 24s to 24s 3d; medium do.. 20s to 20s 10d’; small do., 14s, 14s 6d to 14s lOd: ewes and lambs, all counted, 13s 7d; empty 2-th ewes, IGs 3d. Fat sheep: Fat wethers. 35s 35s 6d to 36s 7d : light do., 295, 29s lOd to 32s 9d; fat hoggets, 20s Id; fat ewes, 265, 26s 9d to 27s 6d; medium fat ewes, 20s, 23s 4d; light and unfinished do., 13s, 13s 9d to 14s Id.
