BLASTED BY R.A.F. BOMBERS

BIG AERO ENGINE FACTORY DAMAGED.

WITH RAILWAY STATION & OTHER OBJECTIVES.

LONDON, August 17. A big factory, covering 46 acres, was the principal target of R.A.F.

bombers which attacked Turin, in Northern Italy, last night. The

factory produces motor vehicles and engines for tanks and aircraft. The conditions were good—clear air and bright moonlight. Little opposition was met. The rest of the bombing force attacked targets in the centre of Turin, especially the railway station. The airmen report that they met many German fighters during the trip to Turin and back. Two bombers are msising from the night’s operations, which included attacks on airfields and railways in France and the Low Countries.
