Racing history was made at Riccarton on Saturday when Town Survey won the Grand National Hurdles and became the first winner of the Great Northern, Wellington Winter and Grand National Hurdles -in the same year. The day was sunny, though cold and the track was again soft. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £107,908, compared with £79,064 10s on the second day last year.
