One day the headmaster heard a shout from one of the classrooms. And so he rushed in. “Here am I talking to them about the surprising habits of beetles,” said the master, “and there’s a boy sitting there with a bomb under his jersey.” The boy was proudly lifting his jersey and shewing his pet bomb to his classmates. The bomb disposal squad was sent for and dashed along straight away. But not one of the boys was worried. Actually a bit disappointed that they hadn’t seen the end of the bemb.”—Wilfred Pickles, talking to overseas listeners in a 8.8. C, series.
