IN QUEBEC AGAIN
MR WINSTON CHURCHILL
PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT EXPECTED LATER.
MR EDEN TO ATTEND COMING CONFERENCES.
(British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.2 a.m.) RUGBY, August 15. Mr Churchill returned to Quebec today, after conferring with President Roosevelt for several days in th° United States. He was accompanied by his daughter, Miss Mary Churchill, and was met on his return to Quebec by Canadian, American and British military leaders
and 1 by Mrs Churchill. President Roosevelt is expected in Quebec later. The British Foreign Secretary (Mr Eden) will also attend the coming conferences. Interest in the meeting between Mr Cnurchill and President Roosevelt has been temporarily side-tracked by discussion about the non-attendance of Marhal Stalin, tending to suggest that there is some misunderstanding or coldness between Russia and Britain and America. It can be stated on reliable information, a special Press Association correspondent in London reports, that this is far from the fact. On the contrary, Soviet, British and Amercan relationships are more cordial than ever before. MAY VISIT AUSTRALIA BRITISH PRIME MINISTER. £T LATER STAGE IN WAR.
(Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON. August 15.
There is a posibility that Mr Churchill may visit Australia to see
the Pacific war theatre at first hand, but not until the European phase of the war is well on its way to being won, sayls the “Daily Mail's” Quebec correspondent.
Mr Churchill, after an absence of three days, returned to Quebec today for his meeting with President Roosevelt, which presumably will be starting early this week.
