PAY INCREASES

FOR WOMEN WAR WORKERS

IN AUSTRALIA

Under a decision o£ the High Court, pay increases, authorised by the Women s Employment Board but withheld by employers pending the Court’s decision, will be received by 5.000 Australian women war workers. The accrued payments for the women workers concerned will vary from £4O to £6O. The Court’s ruling entitles women in certain sections of industry to 80 per cent or 90 per cent of the male wage.
