In this picture Bette Davis plays a difficult part of a woman wno becomes involved in a unique entanglement from which she can be saved only by a con'ibination of loyalty and courage, and the film ends in an unusual way. George Brent stars opposite Miss Dayis. and the supporting cast is headed by Mary Astor, whose playing of the role of the third member of the triangle has a polish which brought her an Academy award for the part last year. Her work gives unity and strength to a very “different” picture. The role of Miss Astor as a concert pianist is used to introduce some splendid numbers superlatively well played.
