The Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr Sullivan, said a secret formula for preventing the shrinkage of wooL discovered by a British research station. had been provided for use in New Zealand. It would be made available to manufacturers, and as it extended the life of woollens by 50 to 100 per cent it was of considerable economic value.
During discussion on the Industries and Commerce vote, Mr Sullivan said the price regulations had to be enforced by inspectors, as otherwise prices would soon get out of control.
