CAUCASIAN SANATORIA

PLUNDERED & DEMOLISHED BY GERMANS.

NOW IN PROCESS OF RESTORATION.

The medical institutions: of the Caucasian health resorts, which were demolished and plundered by the Germans, are already in process of restoration. In Pyatigorsk the Germans blew up a number of splendid buildings, including the Balneological Institute. They carried off valuable equipment and apparatus. The Pyatigorsk Polyclinic was demolished so that the Germans could use its bricks to build blockhouses. The Lermontov Baths were smashed up and others used as auto repair shops. Now a number of sanatoria in Pyatigorsk as well as mudbath clinics have

been restored and serve the needs of Red Army soldiers. By the beginning of the watering season many other medical institutions will have been restored.—-“ Soviet War News.”
