FIVE ENEMY SHIPS

DESTROYED BY WHIRLWIND BOMBERS ANOTHER SET ON FIRE. SURPRISE ATTACK OFF COAST OF FRANCE. LONDON, August 11. Off the coast of France today, Whirlwind bombers made a sprprise attack cn six enemy ships and blew up five, four of them E boats. Another E boat was set on fire. R.A.F. Spitfires and Typhoons were out "transport busting” over France and Belgium. They attacked railway engines, barges and a hangar. One Messerschmitt 109 was shot down during the day.
