The well-known Russian archaeologist, Prof. Mikhail Illarionov, has been elected an honorary member of the Edinburgh Royal Society of Antiquaries. Professor Illarionov is completing a series of studies in the history of Caucasian peoples and Siberian nomads. The Institute of the History of Material Culture under the Academy of Sciences, of which he is the head, is about to publish some studies in the history of the ancient culture of Russia and Georgia.
