WEDDING

HARROP-BROWN St. Matthew’s Church was the scene of a pretty wedding recently when Edna, second daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Brown, Masterton, was married to L.A.C. Lewis, only son of Mr and Mrs S. Harrop, Masterton. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a fitting gown of white satin. Her tulle veil fell in long folds over the train of her gown and was held in place with white tiger lilies. She carried a bouquet of lilies and maiden-hair fern. The only jewellery worn by the bride was a cameo brooch which belonged to her great-great-grandmother. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Josephine Johnston and Miss Shirley Brown, who were dressed alike in rose taffeta frocks with heartshaped necklines, ruched bodices and sleeves and beautiful full skirts trimmed with ruching. They wore gold lockets, the gift of the bridegroom. Their head-dresses and bouquets were of pink camelias, heather and maidenhair fern.

L.A.C. Jones was best man and Mr I. Osborne groomsman. A reception was held at the Cosy Tea Rooms, where the guests were received by Mrs Brown and Mrs Harrop, both of whom wore navy blue costumes and accessories with shoulder sprays to tone. The artistically iced cake was the gift of the bride’s aunt, Mrs John-, son.

When L.A.C. and Mrs Harrop left for the north the bride was attired in a honey frock and. fur coat (the gift of the bridegroom) with accessories to match. Thier future home will be in Whangarei.
