Commenting on complaints by Wellington taxi drivers that they have been subjected to abuse and assaults by service men, the Minister of Transport (Mr O’Brien) said that he was carefully inquiring into the matter and was consulting with the police and the military authorities. He added that all steps necessary would be taken to protect taximen in carrying out their duties.
