ESPERANTO

MASTERTON CLUB. WEEKLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. There was a good attendance of members at the weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club last night, Mr E. J. Esler presiding. Following the usual grammar revision, a “conversation half-hour” was held, the object of which is to enable members to develop vocabularies and become fluent in discussion on every day topics. The subject last evening was “Eksteraj Sportoj” (outdoorsports) and was led by Mr J. D. Beresford. Copies of a one-act comedy in Esperanto were received from the New Zealand Esperantist Association, and parts were allotted to members. This will be the club’s first venture in Esperanto play reading, and is likely to prove very popular. The author of the play, incidentally, is the president of the N.Z. Esperantist Association, Mr B. Potts.
