The C.J.C. Grand National meeting opened at Riccarton yesterday. The weather was bleak and showery, and the track was soft and breaking up. There was an excellent attendance and the totalisator handled £101,965 10s, compared with £82,693 on the first day last year, an increase of £19,272 10s. Results: —
