MASTERTON SALE. GOOD COMPETITION FOR FAT SHEEP. The Wairarapa Stock and Slation Agents’ Association report as follows on their Masterton sale on Wednesday:—A good yarding c.: cattle, sheep and a special entry of dogs came forward and attracted a large and reerpsentative attendance of buyers. Fat sheep, of which there was a large yarding, met with good competition and prices remained firm on last week. In the store section, hoggets were again in good demand and the majority of these went to Manawatu buyers. The cattle yarded comprised mainly cows .'.w. F'.A. bull and they were showing signs c£ the shortage of feed and prices for these were not up to those ruling at our late fixtures. Our total clearance was effected under the hammer and the following list of our principal sales will indicate values:— Fat wethers. 36s to 395; light do.. 335. 34s to 355; fat b.x. wethers, 31s to 31s 9d: fat medium b.f. ewes, 29s to 30s 6d; fat hoggets, 24s to 25s 6d; fat ewes, 27s 6d to 28s lOd; light do., 20s, 21s to 235: 2-th. wethers. 20s 3d: forward condition 2-th. wethers, 26s Id; woolly w.f. hoggets. 18s 7d to 19s Id; medium de., 14s, 14s 7d to 15s 6d: shorn wether hoggets. 14s 6d, 14s 9d to 15s 3d; good ewe hoggets, 23s Id; medium do.. 15s 9d to 17s 9d: m.a. ewes. r.w. S.D. ram, 17s 9d; 2-th. do., small. 18s 2d; s.m. do., small, 13s. 13s 6d to 14s 7d. Fat heifers, £9 9s; fat cows, £8 15c; M.A.. P.A. cows, r.w. P.A. bull, £4, £4 7s, £4 16s to £5 7s: low condition do., £2 10s, £3 to £3 ss: low' condition empty cows, £2, £2 7s to £2 12s; springing heifers, £lO 10s. The special entry of dogs and horses offered on' account of Mr C. O'Brien attracted. attention and good dogs sold on his- behalf made from £l5 to £18: hacks, £l2 to £l2 10s; saddles, £8 to £l5.
