16 ENEMY PLANES DESTROYED AGAINST LOSS OF NINE.

“The North-West African air forces, throughout yesterday, maintained heavy attacks against the enemy in Sicily," reports an Algiers air communique. “Light and medium bombers attacked supply dumps and road communications. Fighter-bombers attacked motor transport, destroying or damaging many vehicles. On Tuesday night light bombers attacked railway communications at Marina Di Catanzaro and Paolo. Medium bombers continued the attack in daylight. * On Wednesday heavy bombers attacked docks and the submarine base at Naples. The target area was well covered with bombs. A number of enemy planes were destroyed on Tuesday night, which were destroyed. Five enemy planeswere destroyed on Tuesday night. Bombers on Wednesday night attacked Messina and railway communications at Battapaglia. Nine of our aircraft are missing from all these operations/’
