A plan to send a strong Brazilian expeditionary force to Europe is near realisation, it is announced by the Minister of War, Senor Enrico Dutra, reports the Rio de Janeiro correspondent of the “New York Times.” Senor Dutra said he could not say how many troops were ready for embarkation overseas. The full strength had not yet been reached. The death of the President of China, Mr Lin Sen, after a long illness, is announced in a message from Chungking. He was aged 80. Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek has been formally endorsed as acting-President.
