SERIOUS INJURIES

CHILD PLAYING IN STREET. KNOCKED DOWN BY LORRY. Anthony John Crawford, agecl four years, of Matarawa, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital late yesterday afternoon with a fractured left thigh and a fracture of the base of the skull. The child's condition was stated this morning to be serious. It is understood that the child was playing in High Street, Carterton. and walked out in front of a passing lorry.
