Instructions have been issued to manpower officers throughout the Dominion that men recently returned from the Middle East should not be prevented from accepting employment during their period of furlough, and, while no compulsion is to be used, they should be encouraged to take up some form of employment, preferably essential work. It is stated that such employment will in no way interfere with their Army pay, and no objection will be raised to the wearing of civilian clothing during this employment.
