DAMAGING BLOWS

STRUCK BY BRITISH LIGHT NAVAL FORCES.

ACTIONS OFF DUTCH COAST.

(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright ' ' LONDON, July 26.

Light coastal forces on Saturday night encountered a heavily escorted enemy convoy off Texel, at the mouth of the Zuyder Zee, says an Admiralty communique. One enemy ship was torpedoed and probably sunk, and a number of enemy escort craft were damaged. Our forces sustained no casualties and only very slight damage. Another force off Ijmuiden attacked a strongly defended convoy. One ship in the convoy was possibly hit by a torpedo, and it is known that considerable damage was inflicted on escort vessels. Our force suffered some damage, but returned safely.
