CLEARING SALE

NIREAHA DAIRY HERD. SPIRITED COMPETITION. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a most successful sale on account of Mr W. E. Goss at Nireaha yesterday, when they submitted his whole herd at auction. The cows came forward in good condition and being mostly young cows, calving early, met with spirited competition from local buyers. The herd of 51 cows made the satisfactory average of £ll 2s. The following were the main prices:— Cows in milk, £l3; August calvers, £ll. £l2, £l3 to £l4 10s; September calvers, £9 to £ll 10s: October calvers. £8 to £10; springing heifers, £9; yearling Holstein heifers, £4 2s (id; P.A.. bull. £lO 10s; hay rake, £l6 10s.
