PILOT OFFICER SHAND TO STAND. CONFIRMED AS NATIONAL CANDIDATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. Pilot Officer T. P. Shand has been, confirmed as the National Party candidate for the Marlborough seat. Pilot Officer Shand, who is aged 32, was sheep farming at Kaikoura before joining the Air Force, and, after qualifying as a pilot, was retained in New Zealand as an instructor on a North Island station. He was educated at Christ’s College and Canterbury University College, and graduated as a Bachelor of Commerce. His wife, a daughter o.f Mr C. H. Weston, K.C., is practising as a doctor in Wellington.
