WAR ROMANCE
NEW ZEALAND WAR PRISONER & ENGLISH GIRL. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 23. A R.N.Z.A.F. air gunner. Frank Sergeant, aged 22, wrote from a prisoner of war camp in Italy to Miss Beryl Harris, of Banbury, aged 18, saying: “Will you marry me?” He had to wait a long time for a reply, because the letter, written at Christmas, did not reach Miss Harris until April. She wrote accepting him and has now received another letter from Sergeant containing £2O to buy an engagement ring. The couple first met at Banbury two years ago, before Sergeant was sent to the Middle East. x
