LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST WINDS REACHING GALE FORCE. AND OCCASIONAL RAIN LIKELY. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Strong north-westerly winds, reaching gale force in exposed positions. Weather overcast, with occasional rain, but improving tomorrow. Temperatures moderate, but becoming cooler. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Mainly fair. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 1 point of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9.- a.m. on Sunday, and 6 points during a similar period ended 9 a.m. today. The Waingawa Sub-Station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Shade temperature, maximum 52, minimum 35; terrestrial, 28.5; sunshine, 8 hours 42 minutes; frost, 1.9 degrees. For the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum 57, minimum 41; terrestrial, 30.
