INJURED JOCKEY IMPROVING. A. Jenkins, the Masterton jockey, who broke a collarbone when Abbey Lu fell with him during the running of the July Steeplechase on the second day at Trentham. is making good progress and is to get his arm out of the sling today. Jenkins is confident that he will be fit in time to ride Abbey Lu in the Grand National Steeplechase which is run two weeks from today. In the meantime Abbev Lu, who was uninjured in the fall, is doing well at Masterton in his preparation for the big Riccarton event.
