« LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST COLD S. CHANGEABLE. BUT SLOWLY IMPROVING. The following official weather report and forecast was Issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds, becoming strong in exposed positions. Weather cloudy and changeable with occasional passing showers, but increasing fair period's likely. Frosts in sheltered positions tonight. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Continuing improvement. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 14 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature: Maximum 46, minimum 31, terrestrial 21. Sunshine, 5 hours 54 minutes. Rain, 9 points.
