LADIES’ DAY

MASTERTON ROTARY CLUB. ADDRESS ON LIFE IN JAPAN. Today was Ladies’ Day at the weekly luncheon gathering of the Masterton Rotary Club in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, when members and their wives were present. There was a large attendance and the president, Mr J. H. Cunningham, extended a warm welcome to the visitors. Visitors present were two members of the Pahiatua Rotary Club, Messrs A. Vaughan and W. G. Scott, and Mrs Vaughan, Mr W. E. Lavelli (Wellington) and Mr S. V. Sharman (Masterton ). The speaker for the day was Lieut. Keith E. D. Robertson, who took for his subject “A Fortnight in a Japanese Hospital.” The address, a report of which appears on page 3, was listened to with intense interest and on the motion of the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich, the speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
